Dear Tasman Businesses & Community Groups

I’m pleased to share that, with the support of the Tasmanian Government through Events Tasmania,

a new initiative is coming soon to our region …. A Natural Escape.

This exciting new festival will celebrate the Tasman region’s incredible natural environment and strong community spirit.

A Natural Escape will run over three weeks in October 2025, during the tourism shoulder season, and is designed to promote sustainable tourism, engage local businesses and encourage community participation.

The program will be suitable for all ages. We will feature around 40 events and activities across the region, including nature-based experiences, science talks, guided walks, agriculture and marine-themed events with contributions from the arts, local tourism operators and community groups.

Given our region’s reliance on self-drive tourism, the festival aims to attract visitors by showcasing what makes Tasman unique. By drawing on both local and external expertise, we hope to increase overnight stays, support local spending and strengthen our reputation as a leading eco-tourism destination.

This inaugural event is supported by Events Tasmania for both 2025 and 2026, with the goal of becoming an annual fixture on the regional calendar.
Suze van der Beek is the Project Co-ordinator working one day per week with myself as Project Lead.  If you have any questions or ideas about how your business or community group could get involved, we’d love to hear from you.

Please email us at [email protected] or feel free to call.
Suze will be in touch with local businesses and community groups in the coming weeks as we begin building partnerships and shaping the festival program.
Kind Regards
Tanya
