Hi Everyone,
I have attached some flyers about our Coastcare events in October. It will be a huge weekend. Here is a summary.
Thursday Oct 9th Officer Quarters working bee, 10am-12 midday.
Saturday Oct 11th : Eaglehawk Neck Market Stall , 9.30-1pm – help out by talking to people, promoting coastcare, and selling our new stash of Landcare greeting cards.
Saturday Oct 11th: Nature Networking and Nibbles – come along and listen to some interesting talks from different organisations operating in the municipality, from Friends of Tasman Island, Tasman Landcare, Eaglehawk Neck Coastcare, Roaring Beach Wildlife Rescue, Landcare Tasmania, Environment Tasmania and more. I also need a couple more Eaglehawk Neck Coastcare helpers to help with the nibbles and set up between 2. 30 pm and 3pm, so let me know and come early if that is you.
Sunday Oct 12th: Eaglehawk Neck Coastcare bird walk , we will be looking and learning about beach nesting birds on a stroll toward the Tessellated pavement and back, 10am-12 midday.
Sunday Oct 12th : 12.30-1.30 Eaglehawk Neck Coastcare Fundraising lunch. $10pp, you can book direct with me if you would like, by emailing me. We do need to know numbers in advance. This is a fundraiser to get some new signs for our beach nesting birds.
Sunday Oct 12th 1.30pm-4pm Birdy Chit Chat. Fun and relaxing activity for everyone to round out a busy weekend. Come along and show your bird pics, relay bird encounters, and even some art and poetry. We will have a fabulous display of all the bird art that we did at Sandras recent Coastcare workshop. There will be a bird quiz for all abilities as well. Dressing up as a bird is optional. You can also just come along and join in the fun without the pressure of getting up , but any one who would like to show a few photos of birds, please let Jill Pierce or myself know.
I hope to see you at one or more of the events. PLEASE NOTE,ALL OUR ACTIVITIES ARE FOR FREE except the fundraising lunch. You can book directly with me (email) or go onto the A Natural Escape site and book through that.
A big thankyou to Eaglehawk Neck Hall committee for letting us have the hall free of charge for all the activities, and contributing toward them as well.
And if you notice any nesting behaviour of the hooded plovers on Pirates Bay beaches, please let me know where.
With thanks,
Kerrie Brown
