The usual monthly reminder about our films for the month at the Eaglehawk Neck Community Hall. The Film Society will be screening Gillian Armstrong’s adaptation of the Booker Prize winning Peter Carey novel Oscar and Lucinda on Saturday 13th December at 7.00pm (with hot food and snacks from 6.00pm). The film (M rated, 126 minutes) stars Cate Blanchett and Ralph Fiennes in two of their earliest roles and tells the story of the relationship between two eccentric characters in colonial Sydney and country New South Wales.
Then, on Saturday 27th December at 7.00pm, we are screening the very popular and award-winning Walt Disney animated feature Frozen (PG 102 minutes) based on Hans Christian Anderson’s The Snow Queen. A special family screening so bring along the kids, grandkids and neighbourhood kids (who are all admitted free if accompanied by a society member). Party pies, sausage rolls and fairy bread from 6.00pm?
If I don’t see you in the next few weeks, have a great and safe festive season and start thinking about what films you would like to see included in the screening calendar after February – I have already received several suggestions.
