Hello – this last day of summer feels very autumnal, and autumn is a wonderfully productive time. The capsicum are ripening up, and there are still eggplants to enjoy. The tomatoes are finally ripening in reasonable quantity. We’ll have some sweet corn tomorrow too.
Eaglehawk Neck – market nearby tomorrow at Taranna
There are a few choices for salad greens – the baby leaf mix, baby cos leaves, baby spinach, watercress and purslane are all available
Kale is short this week; but we have choi sum, pak choi and ruby chard. There are caulies of various sizes, beautiful beetroot, baby salad turnips and celery.
We still have the Sweet Domenica onions, and some gorgeous big banana shallots, which have a lovely delicate flavour and texture.
We’ve made a departure from our policy of selling only what we’ve grown ourselves so that we can offer organically grown new season’s apples from Mark and Christine Duggan in Cradoc. The apples this week are Gravensteins.
Looking froward to seeing you tomorrow.
