Film this Saturday

The film screening at the Eaglehawk Neck Community Hall next Saturday, 9th July, at 7.00pm will be In the Heart of the Sea ( M rated, 122 min), the true story of the whaling ship Essex that was wrecked by a giant sperm whale in the Pacific Ocean in the early 19th century.  Directed by Ron Howard (Apollo 13, Frost/Nixon), it stars Australian actor Chris Hemsworth (Rush, Thor), Brendan Gleeson (Calvary, In Bruges), Ben Whishaw (Spectre, The Hour), and Tom Holland (Rev, Dr Thorne).  The story was used by Herman Melville as the basis for his acclaimed novel, Moby Dick.  Another film to see on the big screen, with its accurate portrayal of New England harbour life and the drama and horror of the whaling industry.  Don’t forget to come along early for hot food (seafood chowder) and snacks at 6.00pm
