Public Information Session:

Tasmanian Commercial Sardine Fishery Research
Eaglehawk Neck – Tue 25 Feb, Eaglehawk Neck Community Hall, 6:30pm (doors open from 6:15pm)

Hear from IMAS researcher Dr Tim Ward and NRE Tas Fisheries Managers, and learn more about the recent findings of Tasmanian sardine stocks that could support a commercial Tasmanian sardine fishery.

These information sessions are an opportunity to ask any questions you have about the scientific findings and recommendations, or the fishery development guidelines.

Register your interest here on Eventbrite, where you can let us know what you’re most interested in knowing more about, and we’ll do our best to address it on the night.

The research, guidelines, and answers to some FAQs about developing a sardine fishery are here: Development Guidelines for a new Tasmanian Sardine Fishery

Note, at this early stage these sessions are for sharing information and answering questions about the science and fishery guidelines. Consultation on any rules or regulations for a sardine fishery will follow the normal processes, including statutory public consultation where you can have your say, later this year.
