EAGLEHAWK NECK ACTION COMMUNITY TASKFORCE INC.

NOTICE of the ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING.

The AGM will now be held on Saturday 5th November at 11.30am at the

Eaglehawk Neck hall.

We recently had confirmation that the Secretary and Treasurer of the Association would not be able to attend on the 8th October. We believe that to run an AGM where members questions regarding the Association’s financial affairs and governance could not be properly addressed would not be in the best interest of our members, our committee or our executive. The change in time, to 11.30am, ensures that all members of the ENACT Inc. executive will be at the meeting.

Those holding executive roles at present (President, Secretary, Treasurer and Vice-President) have each decided not to nominate for re-election for different and personal reasons, as have some committee members.

ENACT has been an amazing success story since its establishment as a progress association in January 2013.

This could not have occurred without wholehearted community support and the selfless contributions of all the people who have served on the committee and, more recently the executive, over the past ten years.

To continue its work as an active and vital progress association, ENACT Inc. needs members of the Association to put their hand up to fill each committee position – President, Secretary, Treasurer and Vice-President; plus up to six committee member positions.

Here is your opportunity to put something back into your community.

If there are insufficient nominations, the existing committee will move a Notice of Motion to wind up your Association under Rule 38, which require 30 days notice for a Special General Meeting (SGM) to do so.

If the Motion is passed at the SGM the Association will then be wound up in an orderly and timely fashion according to the Articles of Association.

Please consider participating in a well-established community group that has been responsible for building  Stage One of the Eaglehawk Neck Coastal (Teralina) Track, the soon to be finished widening of the Arthur Highway across “The Neck”, the eight commemorative ‘ANZAC’ picnic tables situated around the town and the ‘Welcome’ sign at the top of the hill; to name just a few.
For nomination forms, and information about ENACT Inc. please contact the Public Officer, Steve Gunn, at [email protected]
