Upcoming works at the Denison Canal Bridge on the Arthur Highway, Dunalley from Monday, 5 August 2024
We are starting work to replace the wooden fenders (also known as bumpers) that support the Denison Canal Bridge in Dunalley on Monday, 5 August 2024. We will also be replacing the walers, which the fenders are attached to.
Work to replace these fenders will take place from the water only.
We will be working Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. We aim to complete the work by mid-October 2024.
What does this mean for you?
Mariners:
During these works, vessels wanting to use the canal will need to book into one of three daily scheduled openings:
- 8:00 am to 8:30 am
- 12:00 noon to 12:30 pm
- 4:30 pm to 5:00 pm
To book a transit, please call the Canal Superintendent on 6253 5113.
Road users:
Please allow up to 30 minutes extra travel time during the scheduled canal openings listed above. Delays will only occur if there are boats transiting. Please also keep to posted speed limits and always follow the directions of traffic controllers and signs.
